Yesterday my baby turned ONE. It was a great day! We went to the zoo & ate chicken (Espen LOVES chicken and is one word he knows ~ which is odd because I don't like chicken and we rarely eat it) and CAKE! It was a fun day! It is so hard to imagine that we have a one year old. This time last year we were nervous & excited. We recalled our journey with Tia yesterday with happy memories. The year has just flown by and I was sad about the speed with which we are watching our beautiful little boy grow up. And yet I am happy. I just don't know how I will capture all his discoveries & moments so that when he is grown I can remember them. And he is going to be grown so fast. But for now he is one and the cutest little boy you've ever seen. He has the personality of 10boys and the smiles that kill you! He is friendly & curious & kind. And like a boy he has no fear and can get something set in his mind & throw LARGE loud fits. He is our pride & joy!!




It was a great day! We got some calls from Grandma in Oklahoma, text messages from Aunt Shanna & Sherry & Sarah and a special call from Norway from "Aunt Vibeke"! (she told Espen some things in Norwegian so he could hear what we all would like him to learn!). What a special day for a very special boy with so many people who love him.

And today is May 23, 2010.... our HOUSE is being filled with our things. There are ALOT of boxes getting moved in. It is nice to see our things filling up spaces. HOWEVER.... this house is (although LOVELY) quite a bit smaller than the house in Lansing. And although I got rid of tons of stuff ~ it was not enough. SO once it is all here, there will be more purging. The biggest problem is we had built in storage at our old home & we don't have that here. So I have to find places to store things & room sizes are smaller so putting a new item in a space is not going to work very well... but I'm super creative & each space will be roomy, neat & there will be hidden storage! But if you are coming to visit us next week for the big party for Espen, you may find something here that will work great in your home!! And you can HAVE IT!

The other issue is that we didn't get the carpet installed yet... it is on order & should be here Tuesday/Wednesday... at which point we will have ALL the stuff to put in from the garage so that our guests have a place to sleep! SO guests if you are reading this you may have to help move your bed in from the garage before you can sleep!! (Shanna!).... but at least all the stuff is HERE!!

And on some other notes.... I hired a lawn service to do the mowing since I broke the lawn mower. We didn't finish all the painting ~ but most of it. We missed the cable installer yesterday so I still don't have cable & NEED TO SEE SOME PLAYOFF GAMES... the Blackhawks are about to go ALL THE WAY!! Sweet!! And tomorrow May 24 we celebrate our 13th anniversary..... hopefully someone will remember.... I did... AND our special 'daughter' turns 22 in Norway & we are proud of her accompishments & know she has 3 hard days of school left this year before she can relax....

Now I have to go tell the movers where some crap goes....
