A week's worth of random stuff.....
I've been away awhile... right this instant I'm sitting in my comfy chair on my computer while the family watches some OLD British movie.... REALLY... how boring can it get on a Sunday night! I'm exhausted but not just physically. Emotionally as well. I've had an oddly nice last 5 days.
Last week my brother-in-law & family came and my in-laws. I've known my brother-in-law longer than my husband and it is always nice to spend some time with him & his family. After a long trip they arrived and Espen was re-introduced to his cousins. Not sure how to share or and seeking attention he was all boy & rougher than girls were accoustomed to. Although challenging at times there were fun times as well!! We enjoyed some time together at the Omaha Children's Museum & Coco Key water park.
My sister-in-law & I were baking chocolate chip cookies & somehow managed to BREAK a metal beater from my mixer. GEEZ... cheap beater!! The cookies were AWESOME!!
I rode the carosel again at the Children's Museum with Espen & he refused to sit on an animal character so we rode the bench together. He was NOT so happy this time & cried..... and I think GREAT!! I don't like riding them ~ my balance gets extremely messed up afterwards for quite some time ~ so I am quite glad at this moment he doesn't want to ride a carosel!! But I'm sure our time will come when he does!
Espen started swim lessons last week!! He LOVES it! It is 1/2 hour of pool time and he gets to ride down the water slide with mommy afterwards!! While he may not be a fan of going ROUND & ROUND... he LOVES fast water slides & can ride & ride!! So we do that together after the lesson. He has learned to blow bubbles, put his ears & head in the water & float on his back. And although he won't do it at the pool he does it at home when he is in the bath or playing for hours in his little pool.
And tonight I sit with the family after a fantastic day walking across a bridge to NO WHERE... seriously they built a bridge for people to walk across that goes to nothing on the other side!! But we let Espen walk & ride & then he played in a splash pad... GREAT fun! He was as tall as
some older little boys and just as cute as can be!!
And I'm going to bed..... thankful for a happy social baby .... and for good in-laws..... and for a kind husband..... and for 2 sisters who make me smile...
