What a day... let me start by saying that my baby JUST now, at 10:10pm, went to bed. A record late night. We started bed time at 8.... and he just wasn't having it... but oddly he never cried... just kept taking clothes off & throwing everything (sheets & all) out of his bed... so I need to adjust nap time so he doesn't sleep so late in the day. But it was some kind of odd night! So we woke up to another day of crappy weather. Looked freezing outside. I spent my morning fixing a wall of pictures Espen likes to yank on and then he got up on the bed & pulled the newly fixed one off the wall, shattering glass all over my bedroom floor. So I cleaned it all up, spent some time mad at him & hastily decided we needed a pool day. YEA... you read that right... THE POOL. So I asked if he wanted to go swimming.... He was ready - ran to the front door in his pj's!! So that was my answer! I changed us, packed some towels & off we headed to CoCo Key. After a 20 minute drive, I discoverd it was CLOSED until 4.... well it was only 10:30am.... we weren't about to wait until then to have a swim day and change our outlook on the crappy weather.... So i parked the car near the other end of the hotel & we asked kindly if we could use the indoor pool... and YES we could... FREE! (CoCo Key would have cost me plenty but we were ready!). Espen & I were the ONLY ones there for about an hour & then an older couple joined us. There was even an indoor playground!! HEAVEN! It was not as warm as the tropics and smelled a little bleachy but it was the pool & we were barely dressed & we forgot for some minutes that we live in the north where there is no sign of spring. Espen surprised me with his lack of fear of the water... he goes into water deeper than I thought he would & he lays, rolls, jumps, goes under. It was amazing & stunning to watch such a little guy be so brave & fearless. But it is concerning when he heads to the deep end & has no hesitation about jumping in. (the local indoor pool has indoor swim lessons starting in a week on Wednesday & Saturday - when I work - so I asked Doug to take him... the answer was NO.. Doug doesn't like the water)... But Espen will be signed up for lessons this summer... all I can find & afford! And I can not imagine he will leave floaty things on his arms... but I may have to find a kiddy life vest! Then we came home & had some McDonalds and a NAP!! During which I had to deal with the IRS & our tax man.... UGH... NONE of us noticed a mistake in our address on EVERY FORM. So I had to correct it with the IRS... unfortunately, our refund may be returned & I'll have to request it re-sent. UGH... not happy news. But it is what it is... After that stressor I decided that no matter how much time I had before Espen woke up, I'd spend it in my studio... so I made 3 turtles! OH yes... I had a great one made for Anders & I destroyed it.. so now I've made 3 more... and hopefully one of them will make it!! And I have another gnome for my sister... it felt great to be dirty!! And now... my house is relatively quiet... except the military is busy tonight... must be clear... (Bellevue is near Offut Air Force Base & we have ALOT of air traffic here - all the time). So I'm going to read for a few & go to bed... start my day early I am guessing... I waited on a video to upload.. but need to YouTube it first.. it is a cute one!
