April 24 ~ 2011

HAHAH... what an Easter it was! Espen woke up at 6:45am (to my dismay). He wakes usually between 7 & 7:30am AND then we can get him to snuggle in bed with me with some milk for 15 more minutes or so. (Cause mommy likes to stay in bed in the morning!) But today he woke up & followed me into the kitchen & SURPRISE found some Easter surprises - including eggs with jelly beans in them. He started eating them right away... so by 8am he had eaten LOTS of candy & we needed some real food & milk! He discovered a mower & wheelbarrow so he had lots of fun pushing those around. And one even went tumbling down the stairs just because he could.

And we played outside. It is NOT warm here by any stretch of my imagination. No matter how much I pretend it is going to be I think I better just wait until the end of May for the heat to arrive. But we bundled up & went outside. And he played with the mower & wheelbarrow out there too!!

And after nap we went to our friends house for dinner. Espen did well for being 2 & not patient! He ate a bundle more sugar and played outside. He ran & ran & ran. Chased bubbles & boys & giggled! THEN the neighbors had automatic sprinkers come on and the boys did a great job keeping him out of the water for awhile. Then I just gave in - it was Easter - and I took off shoes, pants & shirt & let him go. IT WAS FREEZING. But he was SO HAPPY. Of course then he took off his diaper & was stark naked running in the neighbors yard. WOWOWOWWOWO... they don't see that very often I imagine. When he was finally dried, dressed & warm the boys had 'hidden' eggs so he went on another egg hunt. He is a real crack up! Opens the egg & looks at what is inside. Throws the egg down & either eats or throws the contents. EACH EGG! It takes a long time! Perhaps next year we will participate in a public egg hunt.... the pushing & shoving & competition...!!

It was a nice day....

The sandbox is still in production.... daddy decided 4 coats of polyurthane was best... and in a damp environment, it takes time to dry.... so we will continue next weekend....

And now I am up way past my bed time waiting for Anders to arrive in Omaha. His flight from Newark was delayed 2 hours... he was unhappy spending so much time in the airport but not in control... patience was key for him today.... So 40 minutes he will be safely in my car on the way to a shower & bed!!
