Had another "sick" day with Espen. But the day sort of started rough.... I was watching the KISS on NBC and waiting for it when I heard CRASH "uh-oh mamma... uh-oh"... then the pound of feet running down the hall and "mamma hand uh-oh". So we went to where the mess was... he had gotten my coffee press off the counter & warm coffee & grounds were EVERYWHERE. And he was happy to point out the mess to me & help clean it (which is not very helpful). While I was cleaning that mess up he was behind the chair with his milk squirting it all over... so again I hear "uh-oh mamma". But this time I was not so happy. So I had coffee & milk all over the floor to clean up.
After that, I decided we would do super quiet activities. I gave him some kid craft scissors. I haven't until today let him just play with them. (He is dangerous). But today we must have cut for hours. I sat with him holding paper. He cut & cut & cut!! He even decided to take the scissors to the bath with him, dinner & tried to get them in bed. Seems like he LOVED them! And we stamped. Since I had already cleaned the floor in the kitchen, I thought I'd be brave & take him in my studio for the stamping. He did well & I didn't care that we got stamp ink all over. My studio has black rubber floor so we don't worry about mess! And he got to listen to some music... my borrowed iPod was plugged into the BOOM BOX and he got to make it all work. It was a happy couple hours. But the stuffy nose & fever made him moody.
During nap I made some pots & noodles. Not at the same time... the pots came out way better then the noodles. But it was fun to try! And then we played outside where he put so much sand in his hair that I didn't know if we'd get it out! And after his bath he kept telling me he wanted his hair cut... so I cut it... I didn't want to... I wanted to wait until after his 2 year pictures cause I think he is so darn cute with the mess of curls up there... But he insisted. And he stood still while I did it. Never in my life have I seen a 2 year old who will let mommy cut his hair. He giggles & wiggles sure but I can use the clippers (just like daddy & Anders do). So he has a big boy hair cut & daddy thinks he looks great!! And I got all the sand out!!
Tomorrow we finish the sandbox!! :) Pictures will be posted... and we are going to Menard's for a sink for my studio!!
