It was incredibly windy today but that didn't stop Espen & I from taking his "bike" outside. He rode & rode... It was funny to see where his "tour" took him and what he found interesting to stop & look at! For example it was fascinating for him to stop and look at the ants. I barely noticed them & from his bike he saw them & stopped to investigate. Not to encourage playing with bugs, I did encourage him to ride over the ants!!
Then Anders came home & they play & love on each other.... After a nap we went outside to the park. We found a little dog. Instead of playing we looked after the little dog & wondered where it came from & where it was going. It came to me when called and was SUPER friendly with the boys. Didn't mind Espen. It was a little chiwawa mix. CUTE little thing... and if anyone remembers I would love a little chiwawa.. especially a quiet one.... and I'd call it Chi-Chi... And Anders WANTED the little dog. We left the park & the little dog had wandered over to another house. Anders was so into rescuing the dog that I was convinced we should go back for him. BUT the mom voice of reason insisted we take the dog to the animal shelter in town. Anders wanted to keep him. He is not allowed dogs in the apartment complex. So we did in fact go find the little dog. It was easy to get him, he sat for me. And we promptly drove him to the shelter. Hopefully his family finds him. He was a lovely little dog.
We went to the park by the little zoo and played for awhile. Espen saw a family with a VERY SMALL baby and went & sat on the lady's lap & kissed the baby. He is incredibly friendly. Yesterday the old lady at Taco Bell, today the baby. Well he sat for a minute & kissed her. (Makes me want a sibling for him but realize that it will never happen....). Sonic drinks and the liquor store before we headed home.
I was hit on like crazy getting beer... "hey beautiful where you from? wish you came in here more often". Yea yea... When I went in the store I left my giant drink on the center floorboard. I forgot it (so excited by being hit on) and Anders started off tipping my giant drink over & under his foot. OOPS... he slamed the truck into park & rescued my drink. Neither of us realized that it had a hole in the side & proceeded to spill in the cup holder! We saw the man with the ice cream cart on the way home & I made us stop for an icecream. Not a truck mind you but the Mexican man with the cart... GOODY!! And we sat outside in the sun & wind eating our treat when a GUST of wind knocked Anders giant drink over bumping the top off & spilling most of it. OOPS... between mine & his we had about 1 giant drink. All the while Espen was playing & eating his ice cream and it was melting. We all ended up sticky & with ice cream on our clothes & arms... What a mess we were!! But laughing!
And now I'm sitting here at 8:49pm and Espen is asleep & Anders is napping on the chair. It is quiet. I have no where to go & nothing to occupy myself with... I've been watching MINUTE TO WIN IT & thinking that is a show I should be on! And looking forward to SVU!!
And I'm thinking about Espen's birth mother... it was mother's day weekend 2 years ago that we met her & took her to breakfast. Our fear was palpable. And now my baby will be 2 in a couple weeks. I think I will think of her every mother's day for the rest of my life. Her courage & love made me the mommy I am today and for that I am extremely greatful!
