Pumpkin Carving

Last night we carved pumpkins with Espen.  This year for the very first time, I didn't do anything.  And I mean NOTHING.... all I did was take some photos and kept the dogs back out of the way! Weird but that's how it worked out.  Espen is older this year and wanted to cut and do it himself.  I gave him a butter knife and he was quite happy to 'cut' on a pumpkin!  He got in there with his spoon and got all the seeds out.  He helped draw a face.  He wanted to do 2 ...  so we did!  He has learned different face names and will show you his happy face, sad face, mad face, silly face, surprised face!  He wanted a happy pumpkin and a mad one!  Espen had fun!!  This year we saved some seeds to grow in our garden next spring.  Hopefully they will make it until then!  But for this halloween we have 2 great carved pumpkins sitting on our front porch... and a little boy who wants to carve more!!
