The Truck Lights never went OFF!
I am just one step away from CRAZY town....
I started my day with a beautiful little boy writing DJ on the wall in his room in Sharpie pen. Not even his name... and then he sang "Happy Birthday Mommy ChaCHa Cha..."
I decided this morning that it would just be easier to drive THE TRUCK. Yep, Doug's truck. The new one. I loaded my things. Got in and drove to the school. The overhead lights were on and would not turn off. When I got to the school, the lights stayed on. I slammed all the doors. I checked the on/off switch. Lights stayed on.
I was at the school for about 30 minutes then went to Target. Lights on the whole way. Stayed on when I parked. I checked doors again. I was sure. I checked on/off. I was positive. About 20 minutes later I headed to the grocery store. Lights stayed on as I drove.
I called Doug. I apologized right off. I explained the situation. He told me not to worry, the truck was smart and had an system to shut it off so it was not draining the battery. Smart truck. Dumb me. He told me to park HIS truck...
I shopped. Picked up food for the teachers. Got some magic eraser sponges. Went back to school. Parked for much of the afternoon. The lights on the whole time. Blasted.
I spent my afternoon with Espen and enjoyed the sun! Used the sponges and erased DJ off the wall... We were in the drive when Doug came home. He got in the truck. Turned it on. Lights were on... As I stood there in utter disbelief, he reached up to the light and PUSHED IT. That's right. He reached up and PUSHED THEM. I had never even thought to do that. I had turned off the switch but never PUSHED THEM. Seemingly the MOST amazingly dumb thing I could do.
My husband had a brilliant laugh today. Asked me not to drive, touch or even look at his truck. And I giggled about it because it is perhaps the most ridiculous thing I have done in so long... One step and I'm wizzing away on Crazy Train.
So as I turn another year older, I am sure life will be just as interesting in this next year! And I will have plenty of entertaining stories to share!
