Ghostly Nights

Believe in ghosts... oh yes.

This rental house is haunted.  I am certain of it.

The first time the weird things happened Doug blamed Espen and a night wakening but I was awake and knew it was not Espen.  I was awakened in the middle of the night by Espen who had heard the train.  I put him back to bed.  He was sound asleep and softly snoring.  About 2 hours later, the lights in the hallway all came on.  The hall is weirdly set up with 4 lights, 2 on a switch.  They were all on.  I was startled and checked on Espen who was OUT.  I turned the lights off and was just creeped out.
Then Doug blamed my carelessness.  I was again awakened in the middle of the night by the lights coming on.  No one but me was awake.  The cat and dog were not even stirring.  I am light sensitive when I sleep so I am 100% positive on both occasions the lights were out and came on in the middle of the night.

Then Doug was suddenly awakened in the middle of the night by the lights coming on.  He checked the entire house, not just the hall and Espen.  Nothing was up.  He had turned off the lights himself before going to bed and he was certain about it.  He was weirded out and then believed me!

Then Espen told me someone shined a light through the crack in his door and then was in his room and he wondered why I was waking him.  It was NOT me and we had not told or talked about the weird lights in front of him because he is sensitive to oddities.  HE SAW SOMEONE....  (let that sink in...)  That particular day I hid my shock and told him I was sorry he was awakened and that he can always call for mom if he needs me.

Then weird light issues started in the day time.  Like a light would be on, then go out and then later come back on.  Or all of them will not come on when we want them to but come on when we are not even trying.  Or flash.  Or one will go out in the spot I was trying to see something in and the rest stay on, and when I move off, the culprit comes back on.

Doug has taken all of the bulbs out, switched them around, changed 2 out and made sure they are tight.  The weird is not just happening to me... but to all 3 of us.  Just plain odd.

Of course my super practical husband, thinks it is faulty wiring.  The only explanation is a ghost.  One trying to freak me out or tell me something.  So I just try to be patient and chalk it up to my weird life.  There is nothing we can easily find wrong with the lights, breakers or switches.  This ghost does not seem to be causing any harm just waking us up at night.  We will continue to have some patience with it.
