Broken mower... Mine is already broken!
My sister is a GENIUS! I mentioned the late night accidents & having to change sheets in the dark and she (having gone through this with 2 kids) gave me the hint of the year.... put 2 sets of sheets/pads on the bed & when he has an accident, just pull off the top set & we are back to bed. So I thought it GENIUS..... did I do it? NOPE. And what happened when I am home alone.... an ACCIDENT at 1:30 in the morning... UGH..... and he was so upset that he wouldn't let me set him down to change the bed.... so a towel over the wet spot had to work. And did I fix that bed the next day... yes I changed the sheets but neglected to put on the double.... and BAM... last night THROW UP.... UGH.... SO today I did it... there are 2 sets of sheets & pads on that darn bed.... so BRING IT!!
I had a CREEPER today at the grocery store. Espen & I went for some fruit (I'm REALLY close to a fruit-i-tarian) and as we were walking to get a Starbucks before shopping a man was just paying & Espen blurts HI to him. So he walked & talked with us.... CREEPER. THEN he asked us to lunch next week... HELLO CREEPY. He was wearing a military uniform and wanted to know if I was married... I was not wearing my wedding ring because it was loose today & I was unpacking boxes... don't want to explain that to hubby...... He followed & talked for about 20 minutes... I WAS creEeEpeD out! When he finally left a store I got a starbucks & told the girl helping me what had happened... she thought it was creepy too....
Then this afternoon I was unpacking boxes in the freaking heat while Espen slept the afternoon away! And the mowing company came to do my lawn. I smile every week when they come becasue WHO has a mowing company mow her lawn. Well of course I do right now because I broke the lawn mower & we don't have time to just go get one ~ to many other projects to get done first! So I was standing in the garage watching them and smiling to myself when BAM I heard something & saw the guy walk across the street to his partner. (They also mow the neighbors lawn). I could hear them talking about the mower he was on & to my utter surprise THEIR MOWER BROKE in my yard! Man I burst into laughter. It was then that they saw me & shouted a hello! Chad ~ the guy mowing the lawn knew I had broken the mower & that was the reason they were here. So I am a curse!! Well Chad called backup & in MINUTES the crew was here... so instead of 2 guys doing my lawn there were 11! THAT also made me laugh!! So when they left Chad stopped and said bye and told me they would really appreciate it if I filled the baby pool next week so they could cool off! So I was just cracking up! And they carted off their broken mower. (Maybe they should take my broken mower too!!).
This company is also mowing Grandma Helen's lawn. I mowed for a month over there with a freaking HEAVY broken mower. Imagine if you will a house on a hill with an empty lot and me trying to mow while the baby slept in the car. The mower weighs more than I do and the handle is broken. WTF. And then we closed on the house & MY LIFE took priority. So after the family was all here & complained to Doug that the lawn was unkept I hired my mowing company to just take care of it. Doug doesn't have time to mow it either because HIS LIFE is here. And with help from our friend Eric last weekend all of our things are out of the house. And would you imagine that we have NOT heard from the OWNER of the house about this situation or any other... ooohhhhh I am irritated about it. But anyway......
My lawn looks AwesomE and after the crew left I played outside with Espen on our freshly mowed lawn & thought... "THANK GOODNESS I don't have to take 3 hours of my life to do this right now ~ I just get to enjoy my afternoon with my baby!!".
