HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Our year closed in fine fashion, if a little bit crazy with family & activity & illness. But we did enjoy a lovely holdiay season with my sister's family and Doug's parents. Espen is 19 months old & VERY curious about the gifts & the activity & playing with anyone who will play. It seems like it has literally been a month of GO GO GO.... and honestly I think we are all tired... I have been cranky & bitchy & snap fairly easily so I am thankful that life in the new year is going to slow down (for a little while!).
It was awesome that we also had Anders here for the holidays! Espen loves him like crazy. I think Espen believes that Anders is HIS. And I am very thankful for the help. I forget while Anders is here just how helpful he is with Espen until he goes back to school and I am without a second set of hands during the day!
So I have been absent from my blog for quite some time... I have a new camera, will be getting a new phone this month and some other new gadgets have arrived.... So there may be time this year to have some comments about how I break stuff!! But I've been taking the time to think.... I was posed with the question about what I could do EVERY DAY for 365 days... and I honestly had to think it over...so I have thought it over...
I have a new book... When Espen was born I kept an awesome little box with these little cards that documented 'firsts'. I included photos & keepsakes. It is my answer to a scrapbook for him. And then we moved right before he turned one and I managed to finish the box. I have wanted something to keep special thoughts & comments since then... and I found it... it is the Mom's ONE LINE A DAY... it is a 5 year book... and all I have to do is ONE LINE!! I can do this every day.
I think I want to be heart healthy & physically healthy for me and the family so I believe I can do 1 mile or the equivilant every day.... if I walk on my treadmill at a moderate pace it takes me 17 minutes to complete a mile... so 17 minutes of some physical activity a day or at least a mile!! I started off right with a mile... and it will help with my notion that I'd like to perhaps think about a 1/2 marathon or several 5k's...
And lastly I think I can write a line or a paragraph or a BUNCH in my blog every day... seems simple since I sit down with a computer most nights....
So those are the 3 things I'm going to do every day.... write in my little book, exercise & blog...
Then there are the goals that are more general that I'll give myself the year to do...
a will
schedule pottery time on my mom calendar
complete a mini tour at old chicago
get a library card
get Espen in some structured activites every so often (like swimming, music or gymboree and ??)
So that is my list of goals for the new year... I'd love to hear some of yours... I may be over zealous but it is the first of the year & I did spend a lot of time THINKING about it! And I have started out strong!!
(now if I can just do something about my erratic emotions & fragile feelings & feeling of odd lack of control.... it will be a great year!)
