After a morning spent in some interesting shops we played our afternoon at the park... curiously my son today was fixated on ONE thing... and he held onto the notion for HOURS... today was the first time it has happened and it was at first curious to me... then annoying... then frustrating... then just maddening! We went to one shop & on the way in was a little train that took a quarter for a ride... I didn't have any quarters but I let him sit on it & assured him that I'd get some & he could ride it on the way out.... And then much to my surprise, he cried for that darn train for the entire shopping experience. But I held my word, got the quarters & let him ride it... TWICE! The we continued on to the other little shops & he cried for that train continuously... EVERYONE shopping over there today knew that A) Espen wanted to ride a train & B) that I was a horrid mom for not letting him... GEESH... I redirected & ignored and we finally picked up his best friend & all was forgotten for awhile. Nap was a HORRID mess... largest one to date.. had to throw out bed sheets... and cleaning a pack & play was NOT fun... it would have been a normal poop mess BUT he had the runs... so it was everywhere.... a shower for him, bleach wipes for the room & bed.. and a trip to Wal-Mart for new sheets.... And once a Wal-Mart he recalled the darn train... and we were no where near it. So I told him, in all seriousness, that if he would see a train, I would let him ride it. AND low & behold inside of Wal-Mart are some horses you can put money in to ride... so he rode.... and then he rode again.... :) Today my phone started letting me send pic mail... and my wireless card probably works... so the Sprint people were telling the truth! And it is lovely to feel like I have control of my technology!!
