August 30 ~ 2011 ~ Fall?
After the terrible day we had yesterday, today was PERFECT! We started our day with organic chocolate oatmeal (tasty)!
There was a fantastic rainstorm so I
decided after we ate we should use the super cool rain suit Martin brought from Norway. So we got dressed in our rain gear & went out in the rain. I'm one of those mom's I suppose that doesn't especially care about the water & being wet... it is just fun to play in the rain. And of course the mud! We played out there for almost an hour... glad to have such great gear to put my kid into when it is rainy or snowy!
Espen helped me do some shopping. He was tasked to touch only mommy or the shopping cart unless I asked him to put something into the cart. He had good manners & did it! Made the excursion smoother & less stressful!
Then after a bribe at nap time (I told him if the sun came out AND he slept, we would pick apples) our afternoon was indeed spent picking apples. It was wet out there so he jumped in puddles in his new shoes and fell getting all wet & muddy (which we got all over the inside of my car). But we did indeed pick & eat a grocery bag of apples (I'll be sharing some with the guys at Dietze!). The apples are GOOD but we won't eat this many... He was a good little apple picker and we had a great time! And I was pretty impressed with his attention to it and the neatness of the orchards (such a "city" girl am I)!!
