October 2 ~ 2011 RACE FOR THE CURE

Today I finished the race for the cure.  I'm not going to say I ran the whole thing but I finished...  It was a great day (for Omaha weather) and it looked like a great turn out of people of all walks/runs of life...  I was glad to have the company before & after the race of my friend Kellie.  It is always a pleasure to have someone to listen to & vent with... and if I feel like dropping a bad word here or there she doesn't get bent up.  And IF there had been a place for bloody marys she would have pushed in front of me to get one ahead of me!  Alas, no bloody marys but we did run and have a lovely morning! 

And I can say my time was 36 minutes... not bad for a NON-RUNNER.  I don't like running... don't do it on a regular basis.... don't expect I'll pick it up...  but I do like getting out there & doing a 'race'.  It is an enjoyable experience....

So to keep myself motivated, I've signed up for the OMAHA ZOO RUN/WALK, the BEER & BAGEL DISASTER (think I've got a team of co-workers to do it with me), and am considering the SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLE run.  We googled the WARRIOR DASH but nearest one is in MN ~ but that kind of crazy looks like fun to me!  If you are in the Omaha area and just want a little challenge... come join me... I won't run the whole way but I'll be there before & after to support you!!
