Making the Call
I am "programed", if you will allow the word, to not have any fear about people or being told NO. I am not sure where it comes from but it pays for itself. As humans I believe we have the ability to be kind and when asked we will help or do something just because we can. We can do so with out hesitation or consideration of some payback. So I have the ability to ask.
I have done it with fantastic results but I have also been told NO. I don't let it deter me when I want something, I just ask someone else until I am satisfied. I have asked to meet NHL players, to be on news sets, to go behind the scenes to see things. And this week I asked a recording studio to give my young Norwegian visitor a tour. And seemingly it was an awesome day (he spent 10 hours there!).
I am very thankful for the kindness of the gentlemen at STUDIO B (http://www.bltd.com/). And for the experience they afforded this young man. I think he dreamed about greatness last night. It was a day of information, learning, cultural exchange & music. And I appreciate the willingness of the two men to welcome my young friend and share their experiences & listen to his. It was AWESOME!
My point here is also to encourage those that think you can't to think you can... all it takes sometimes is just asking... practice in the mirror or just forge ahead. Just ask... it may open great doors for experiences to unfold!! Worst case is you are told no... and then you can move on!
