Snow Blower break down
Sometimes it snows ALOT in Nebraska! I'm home and don't mind shoveling. It is a great work out because I not only have to shovel but also keep track of my little helper who has a bad habit of not responding to his name and if I can't see him I have to find him very quickly. Anyway... I can and do shovel. If the snow gets past the stage of a shovel I am not in familiar territory. We have a snow blower and I've been shown how to use it once. I know enough to get it plugged in, primed and turned on. I can use it and know how to turn the lever so the snow gets thrown one way or another.
This last snow I was in a frazzled mess because it was DEEP. We got more than expected. Doug had already left for work and I had to get enough of the driveway clear to get my car or truck out to go to therapy. I had an appointment and only a short amount of time. I got started but fiddled with a knob searching for the key. The blower was not working worth a darn. I was mad. I was chasing a kid. I knew if I could get enough clear the road would be fine! And BAM... I BROKE THE SNOW BLOWER.
If you have followed my blog for any length of time, you will know that I am prone to serious mishaps and break things. It should not be a surprise that the snow blower just stopped working. It was chugging along barely moving anything one second and the next ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. After a minute of crying and hugging Espen I got out the shovel and cleared the drive enough to move the truck out. And we made our appointment on time! Later in the day I cleared the rest of the drive and sidewalk. It was a truck load of snow. I even had enough energy to build a snow fort for my little snow man!
I am not sure I will use the snow blower again. It seems I did not actually break it but the lever I fiddled with was the choke... so I messed with it enough that it choked itself off. (Honestly I still don't understand). Maybe I should pretend to not use it. I have been able to avoid the lawn mower for a few years by pretending not to know how to turn it on. Reality is that I can use the mower and I don't mind mowing but a sometimes I don't want that added responsibility! It is enough to take care of the little boy, the inside and the food and the garden, and all the rest!!
