#TMChallengeAccepted
I accepted this challenge from Tough Mudder and today is the 3rd challenge. To write a letter to someone who has inspired me in 2013.. and to # the best line... I thought about it all day.
I am inspired by so many. And on a day to day basis. And here are the best parts of my inspiration...
My friend in Texas who raises 3 little boys on a ranch while working full time and the people she surrounds herself with that help in so many amazing ways inspires me to rely on those I love to help when I need it (she does and manages to raise beautiful boys and work full time).
My friend in New York who bikes, runs and works out in addition to her job protecting our borders inspires me just keep pushing and making myself strong (she works shifts and manages to teach challenging fitness classes and take on fantastic fundraising efforts).
My friend in West Virginia who has a freshman at college, works for a school and is more fit than I have ever been inspires me to let my child grow into who he is and give him the freedom to do so (she works, inspires fitness in others and is super supportive of her daughter).
My friend in Texas who has always inspired me to be brave and courageous and to laugh no matter what (and of course love the ROCK) (she moved south and stayed, making a home and a place for herself).
My sister who is raising 2 children in a small town and recently back to work, inspires me to believe in the things I can not know or see (she is).
My other sister inspires me to live every minute to the absolute fullest (she does and is often muddy when she lives it!).
My friend in Illinois who raised 3 kids, is a grandmother and quit her full time job to do what she loves inspires me to 'do it' because what have I got to loose (she works part time now, teaches yoga and loves her family instead of spending all her time at "the hospital").
My friend in Illinois who wins everything inspires me to just try, because I may win (seriously she wins all kinds of amazing things from trips to purses ~ just enter).
My friend in Nebraska who recently lost her full time job and hurt her back inspires me to just take it one day at a time and never complain (she is so calm and focused while looking for new employment and trying to heal her back to run again).
My friend in Nebraska who is gently and magnificently raising 2 beautiful girls with special needs inspires me to help others even when I am exhausted from my own drama (she has more on her plate than I ever think to have and yet she can still support me when I am having a bad day).
My friend in Nebraska whom I barely know, lives down the street and is so supportive of adoption, small agencies and my art (she is an amazing inspiration to an adoption story making me thankful again for my son).
My friend in Nebraska with 3 sons, works full time and still manages to be there for the boys and the school (and love to sit with them at the pool!) (she is such a strength to me while we are just adjusting to school, Nebraska and the neighborhood and a real great friend who makes me smile).
My friend in Nebraska who is a new mom and still gives so much of herself to help my son and so many others at therapy inspires me to learn and do things that will help my son and family while still smiling (she is always so happy and helpful and full of great ideas or suggestions and non-judging).
My friend in Nebraska who is a military woman, works a hard job, raises a beautiful daughter and struggles with her own personal battles inspires me to still do the things I love (she is an amazing friend and still studies and supports her family even while working to protect our freedoms).
There are so many unmentioned who inspire me to be greater than I am, stronger than I think I can be, smarter than I image I am. So many who are brave and courageous and do things I only dream of.
I hope to inspire them to be all they can be.
And so today Tough Mudder, I appreciate the opportunity to let so many know how important they are to me in 2014... because I am nothing without the strong people who stand beside and behind me. They push me to be quietly brave and super strong in body, mind and spirit. To give what I can, to not complain and to be there for those that need me. They inspire me to be more for my family. They allow me to be a friend and support even when I don't think I have any energy left to give. They allow me to be a mom, wife, potter and friend and they accept that is what I am.
It is with the support of these strong women that I will be able to move forward in 2014 and be all that I can be. Thank you.... thank you all for making me the woman I am today. You all inspire me in many many ways... and even if I don't tell you... thank you...
